Dr. Soran Hong Shin, 68, of Spring, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 3rd 2018. She was born March 10, 1950 to Dr. Moon Hwa Hong and Moon Hee Park in Korea. Soran is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Dr. Yung Sup Shin; sisters, Dr. Duck-Heh Hong and Eul-Mee Hong; brothers, Dr. Juan Hong and Hyun-Woong Hong; and a host of other family and friends.
She was born and raised in Seoul Korea and graduated from the prestigious Kyungki Womans high school and Ewha Womans Medical school and did her residency in ENT at Hanil General Hospital. She moved to the USA and completed her residency at Kingbrook Jewish Hospital in New York and got board certified in Internal Medicine in 1981. She continued to work at Brookdale Hospital and was a partner at Kingsboro Medical group until 1999. She moved to Houston following her husband and worked as St. Joseph medical center and a partner at Wills Diagnostic Clinic until her retirement in 2015. She dedicated her professional life to faithfully taking care of patients for 44 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Burial will take place in Whittier, California in Rose Hills Memorial Park later in the week.
