Sharon Elizabeth Hays DeCarlo
June 27, 1943 - June 30, 2018

Sharon Hays DeCarlo passed away on June 30 at 10:30 am. At her bedside were her husband, two sons, a daughter-in-law, and the family dog, Maddie. Sharon was born in Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas on June 27, 1943. She celebrated her 75th birthday before passing to be with the Lord. Sharon graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio in 1961 and went on to attend The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas where she graduated with a BS Degree in Nursing. Sharon also did post graduate work in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in the Houston Medical Center. Sharon worked for Methodist Hospital in Houston, and later as a school nurse in Aldine ISD and Spring ISD before retiring due to health problems. Sharon and Dale attended Bammel Church of Christ and Champions Church of Christ, and they received great joy from spending time with their church family.
She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Hays Sr. and mother Bernice Juste Hays.
She is survived by her husband Dale DeCarlo of 54 years, son Craig DeCarlo and wife Kristi, son Randy DeCarlo and wife Danielle, grandchildren Travis, Lauren, Justin, Alaina and Ryan DeCarlo, brother Kenneth Hays Jr. and wife Kay, in addition to nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in her name to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
