Albert Dennis Trevail
July 11, 1943 - May 27, 2018

Albert "Bert" Dennis Trevail, age 74, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at a local hospital in Cypress, TX, surrounded by his loving wife, Sheila, of 31 years, and daughter Amber.

Bert was born on July 11, 1943, in Brown's Hill, Quebec, Canada, to Silvanus and Florence Anne (Matthews) Trevail. Throughout Bert's life, his primary focus was always his family, then his lifelong public service. He served in the Canadian Army and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict, serving three consecutive combat tours as a Tank Commander in Alpha Company, 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, eventually retiring from the U.S. Marines as a First Sergeant with 21 years of service. Bert was a decorated war veteran, having received numerous awards, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. While in the Marine Corps, Bert earned multiple academic degrees, enabling him to become a school educator, after his military retirement. He retired for the second time after a 25-year teaching career that spanned the globe from Italy to California. Once retired for the second time, Bert had more freedom to ride his motorcycle across the country and make jewelry in his spare time.

Bert is survived by his wife Sheila (Murphy) Trevail, daughter Amber, and her husband, Tomas Eggers, sons Gene, and his wife, Karen O'Laughlin, Christopher, Michael, Jeffrey, grandson Joseph, nephew Duane, brother Lloyd Trevail, and sister Shirley Beasley who still reside in Canada. His parents, brothers Earle, Bill, Bruce, and sister Nellie Trevail predeceased him.
A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date on the Southern California coast. Notifications will be made through mail, email, and social media.

The thoughts and prayers of the Addison family and staff of Addison Funeral Home go out to the Trevail family and friends.
