Jerry Holcomb was born May 3rd, 1938. He passed peacefully during the early hours of March 31st while sleeping beside his loving wife of 49 years.
Jerry had a big personality. Even at 79 he kept his quick wit. He had a nickname for just about everyone he ever met. He was warm and kind and generous to a fault. He treated strangers as friends and friends as family. He was honest and plainspoken and he was never afraid to say what was on his mind. There was never any doubt about where he stood on a given subject. That was never more true than with respect to family. There was nothing more important to him than his loved ones. He will be greatly missed by those he left behind.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ima (Shutter) Holcomb and father Charlie Holcomb, brothers: Ralph Holcomb, Tommy Holcomb, Jack Holcomb, Gene Holcomb, and S.M. Holcomb, and sisters Patsy Ann Holcomb, Charlyn Vestal, and Dorothy Clevenger.
He was a devoted husband and beloved father and grandfather and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Arlene Holcomb of Spring, son Jeffrey Holcomb(48) of Spring, daughter Jennifer Flygare(45) of Dallas, grandsons: Landin Flygare, Tristan Flygare, and Parker Holcomb, granddaughters: Anna Holcomb, Kayla Holcomb, Erin Holcomb, and Cheyanne Flygare, and brother James Dale Holcomb of Livingston, TX.
