Frank Farr, 75, of Shenandoah, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, following complications related to heart surgery.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00pm, Wednesday, March 14 at Addison Funeral Home, 18630 Kuykendahl Rd., Spring, TX 77379, Minister Steve Yates will be officiating. Friends will be received from 10:30 until 12:00pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at the Houston National Cemetery.
Frank was born in Abilene, TX on June 5, 1942 to Norman and Loneta Farr. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and after serving in the U.S. Army went on to graduate from Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock, TX.
Frank was married to the love of his life, Karen, on August 10, 1964; they were married 53 years.
Frank lived a life of exemplary devotion as a husband and father. After his military service, he responded to a calling to ministry and faithfully served the church for his entire professional life. After training at Sunset School of Preaching, Frank and his family served briefly in the Houston area before moving to New Hampshire to establish a church. With his role in that work complete, the family moved to California where he worked with the Walnut Creek Church of Christ. He completed his professional ministry back in the Houston area where he served as President of Eastern European Missions while he and Karen cared for their aging parents. But even in retirement, Frank’s lived his life as a ministry, remaining active in church work and devoted to his family and friends to the end.
Frank is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Leah Bradshaw and husband, Alan, Rachael Doff, and Debbie Fiddyment and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Zach Bradshaw, Katherine Hollenbeck and husband, PJ, Lindsay Bradshaw, Garrett Doff, Mason Doff, Kayelea Doff, Aaron Doff, Paige Fiddyment, Samantha Caylor, Lily Fiddyment and Jake Fiddyment; and brother, Norman and wife, Onesia. He is predeceased by his parents Norman and Loneta Farr and his parents-in-law, Jesse and Dothal Callihan.
