Patrick John Kelly was born on August 25, 1965 in Evansville, Indiana, to Hubert and Laura Kelly. He died February 17, 2018 at the age of 52. Patrick was preceded in death by both parents and is survived by his wife Rebecca and their son, Finn of Cypress, 2 brothers, Joe, and his wife Jeanne of Evansville, Charles and his wife Susan, of Friendswood, and 3 sisters, Kathy Phillips and husband David, Evansville, Michelle Kelly of Louisville, and Shannon Woolsey and husband Clint of Evansville.
Patrick earned a degree in Psychology from Indiana University and a Criminal Justice degree from Notre Dame. Most recently he earned a MBA in Security Management from the University of Houston.
Patrick served as a police officer in Evansville for many years. After taking a disability retirement in 1998, he moved to Houston and worked with his brother Charles. He began selling cars for Northwood Lincoln Mercury, where he sold Rebecca a car. He used to say that she got a great deal, and he didn't make any money. A few weeks later, she asked him out and they were married on September 1, 1999. Around the time of Finn's birth in 2000, Patrick retired again, becoming a great housekeeper. He used to tell that he was the housekeeper and the yard guy. He loved to do laundry, but after several things came out pink, Rebecca limited his laundry role. Patrick was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 73, and served as their President.
Patrick was the life of the party. He was charming, welcoming and was known for his storytelling. He had a dramatic flair. He loved his family, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and National Geographic, with maps! With a name like Kelly, it is not surprising that he also loved all things Irish. He will be greatly missed.
Special Instructions/Comments: The Addison family and staff at Addison Funeral Home extend their condolences to Patrick's family and friends.
