James Joseph Simeck, 89, of Magnolia, Texas, formerly of Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Jim was born on August 26, 1928 in Erie, PA. He graduated from Binghamton North Senior High School in 1946. In 1948 he married his childhood sweetheart and their 3 children were born in Binghamton.
Jim worked for Coca Cola in Binghamton before beginning a 35-year career with New York Telephone Co. in Binghamton and Albany. He started as a cable splicer’s helper and retired in 1983 as Business Sales Manager. He then worked as a communications consultant at Binghamton University for several years.
Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, skiing, woodworking, coin collecting and discussing politics. He loved to putter in his workshop making and fixing – or unfixing as the situation dictated. He was a real character who loved to joke, sing and laugh. His greatest pride and joy came from his family and his tough yet gentle spirit will live on through them.
