Ralph McLain
died January 26, 2018

Ralph Olin McLain went to be with our Lord in Heaven at his home in Tomball, Texas on January 26, 2018, he was 92.
Ralph was born in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma on June 30, 1925 to Ellis and Ovie McLain. He was the middle son of 5 children. His father's career as a minister took Ralph to several states throughout his childhood, including Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas. He met his wife Dorothy in Beaumont, Texas where they married on August 31, 1958. Together Ralph and Dorothy raised four children. Their two oldest daughters, Leann and Sulin, they proudly adopted from South Korea. God also granted them two children by birth, their son Danny and youngest daughter Bonnie. He was more than a father to his children, he was a Daddy! A devout Southern Baptist, Ralph served our Lord faithfully every single day of his life.
Ralph was a rascal as a youngster, often telling tales of how he and his older brother Johnnie created mischief for entertainment during the youth. Ralph joined the Submarine Service during World War II at the tender age of 17. He served as Electrician First Class on the Submarine USS Aspro where he earned the nickname of "Red" for his rusty colored hair. He took the skills he learned in the service to the private sector where he worked for Borden Ice-Cream as a refrigeration engineer until his retirement. He was a hard, tireless worker his entire life, taking loving care of his wife, Dorothy until her death.
Dorothy and Ralph moved to Tomball, Texas in their later years to be near their youngest daughter and her family. He is survived by his daughter Leann Wallace and son-in-law Mark Wallace of Bevil Oaks, Texas, granddaughters Song Thompson and her husband Keith and baby son Titus of Votaw, Texas and Moriah Wallace of Bevil Oaks, daughter Sulin Ledger of New Port Richey, Florida, his grandsons Dr. Jeremy Ledger and wife Nicky and great grandsons Leyton and Ashton of Spring Hill, Florida and Dr. Jason Ledger and wife Sunny of Winter Haven Florida, son Danny McLain and daughter-in-law Martha of Hockley, Texas, and grandchildren Noah and Sarah McLain, daughter Bonnie Oxford and son-in-law Tim Oxford of Tomball, Texas and granddaughters, Katie, Kristin and Chloe, daughter Connie French of Arkansas, her daughters Debby, Holly and Sandy, adopted son Ronnie McLain also of Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Ralph's family will greatly miss his wry and witty sense of humor and tireless faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!
