Hilda Guerra Rivera was born on April 28, 1928 in a small town outside of Alice named Mirando, Texas. She came from a large family of nine, four brothers and four sisters.
In 1954, she went on vacation with her cousins to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she met "The Love of her Life," Noe Rivera. They married soon after, had 2 daughters and stayed in Milwaukee until 1962. In 1963, they returned to Texas to be closer to their families and remained here for the rest of their lifetime.
Hilda loved cooking ,she could feed over twenty people without even breaking a sweat! She was the driving force of "Rivera's Hamburger Stand" a restaurant that they owned and operated in the late 1960's to the early 1970's. She was her happiest when she was entertaining family and friends. Her hobbies included ceramics, porcelain dolls and doll clothes that began as a hobby with friends to a small business in Old Time Spring. Always open to try new things, she had an entrepreneurial spirit.
She took pride in her yard and flowers. Roses were her favorite flower and she would spend hours pruning, watering and talking to them all, convincing them to grow.
She was a strong loving person who prayed daily for her family and friends.
She will be missed by many and we are thankful for the time God gave us with her.
