James Walker
February 5, 1942 - January 4, 2018

James Duane Walker, 75 of Spring, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Memorial Hermann Hospital of Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
James was born on February 5, 1942 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Sidney Walker and Lora Marie Hewitt. As a young man he went by the name Duane to family and friends but later in life went by Jim.
At the age of 7 his parents divorced and his mother left East Texas to move to the Dumas, Texas area.
At 17 he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Upon his discharge he moved to Houston, Texas. His son Michael Duane Walker was born October 27, 1968. He was divorced from Vada Darlene Hughes in 1973.
He met his second wife, Patricia in 1975 and they were married January 28, 1978 in Alief, Texas. They lived for over 20 years in Houston, TX.
In 1997, James' life changed completely when he and Pat moved to Pine, Colorado where they lived until October 2017. Jim loved the Mountains and swore on their honeymoon in Winter Park, CO, that they were going to live there one day. That dream did come true.
Jim and Pat decided to return to Texas to be with their son, Mike, Daughter-in-Law, Danielle and grandson, Trevor.
Jim's passion in life was building and painting custom cars. One of the cars he built is parked out front of the funeral home, the one he gave his son. His other hobbies were Motor Cross, Drag Racing, Home Remodeling and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his football. He was definitely a man that liked to work with his hands and do things for himself. He was the ultimate DIYer. His imagination and creativity knew no bounds. He loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Marie and brother, Keith.
Successors are his wife, Patricia Sue Walker; son, Michael Duane Walker; grandson, Trevor Duane Walker; daughter-in-Law, Danielle M. Walker; brother, Robert Walker; sisters-in-Law, Mavis Walker, MaryAnn Reagan, and Joy Schachel;
brothers-in-law, Bill, John, Larry and Mike Schachel and Timothy Reagan; nephews, Donnie Walker, Timothy Reagan, John T. Schachel; nieces, Shala Walker, Kymberly Lilly, Tracy Reagan, Christina and Madeline Schachel; aunts, Helene Alphin and Eddie Mae Sawyer; cousins, Andy and Tommy Anderson, Ellen Kirkland and Claude Baldree Jr.; and all his great nieces and nephews, too many to name.
