James Edward Day was born in Beaumont, Texas on June 11, 1948 to loving parents Leo and Dorothy Day. He graduated from Reagan High School in 1968. A successful businessman, he owned and operated sandwich shops and delicatessens in office buildings in the Houston area for several years. He passed from this life on January 1, 2018,
His parents preceded him in death. His daughter, Lisa Day Hartnup and her husband Matthew; and his son, Larry Edward Day, survive him. He is also survived by two grandsons who were the light of his life, Geoffrey Hartnup and Andrew Hartnup; siblings Charlie Day, Yvonne Day, John Day and wife Cynthia, Nannette Day and husband Monte Albright; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as a loving, caring, generous Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He was a quiet, low key, funny guy with great one-liners.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4th from 6:00pm -8:00pm at Addison Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5th at 11:00am with Reverend Debra Morwood officiating.
Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Hartnup, Andrew Hartnup, Jared Day, Monte Albright, Sidney Picard and James Walker.
