Ronald Alfred Plum, also known as “Rocky”, went to Heaven on December 11, 2017. He was born May 2, 1937 to parents Alfred and Josephine Plum in Muncie, Indiana. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1955 and then attended and graduated from photography school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1960. He served in Berlin, Germany from 1960-62 as a Combat Photographer and Information Specialist. He was in Berlin during the Berlin Crisis and the building of the Berlin Wall. Shortly after returning to the states he married the love of his life, Jane Louise Short, his wife of 54 years. They had 2 children together Heidi and Shannon. He worked as a photographer in Muncie and Anderson, Indiana before moving to Spring, Texas in 1983. He was a marathon runner and ran 10 marathons after the age of 55. He was known for his American patriotism and held a "Salute to our Flag” party for 14 consecutive years. He is survived by his wife, Jane Plum and his 2 children Heidi Margy and Shannon Plum and his wife Veda Plum. Also survived by his grandchildren Jason Mellott, Tristany and Brandon Lubbers, and Matthew and Joanna Plum; and brother David Plum and his wife Bonnie Plum of Muncie, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
