Jody Kahn, age 69, passed away on December 3, 2017. Jody had a larger than life personality and everyone he met was his friend. He was like a ray of sunshine and always had a smile on his face.
Jody was born in Houston, TX on May 4, 1948 and lived most of his life in Galena Park, TX, where he became well-known. He was the ballboy for the Galena Park High School Yellow jacket football team and the batboy for the baseball team for many years. He was a member of the Galena Park Lion?s Club and an honorary member of the Galena Park Police Department. For 17 years, Jody lived at Willow River Farms (near Sealy, TX), a working community for mentally challenged men and women. He loved working in the crafts department and was even featured in the Houston Chronicle making the decorations for cookie tins sold to raise money for The Center. When Jody's health declined, he moved to Brookdale Place at Willowbrook, where he lived for 6 years. The last year Jody has lived in a group home in Conroe, TX where he could be closer to family.
Preceded in death by his parents Harriet and Joe Kahn and his sister Susan Kahn. He is survived by his loving family: his sister Laurie Kahn Bush, his nieces and their husbands Brianna Oliver Miller and Chris Miller and Janessa and Thomas Welch, his adoring great-nieces Emerson and Elyse Oliver and Autumn Welch.
