Jackie Dee Stephens
died June 26, 2010



Jackie Dee Stephens, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle, passed away Saturday, June 26th, 2010. He was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on February 25th, 1930. Jackie is survived by his spouse of 57 years Dorothy Jeane Stephens (Dot) also calling her his “57 year old wife”; daughters, Barbara Jeane Dearen (Jeanne) and husband Don Dearen, Gloria Sue Stephens (Susie); grandchildren, Christopher Lott and Jacquie, Kristen King and husband Drake; great grandchildren, Autumn, Anthony, and Ethan; great daughter-in-law, Tasha; siblings, Grady Stephens, Freddy Stephens, Wayne Stephens and his wife Fay; sister-in-laws, Irene Whitney, Kay Sveum; brother-in-law, Jim Purcell and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents Alva and Mary Stephens; grandchild, Tyler Lott; siblings, Wallace Stephens and Gloria Stephens; sister-in-laws, Ruth Stephens, Wanda Stephens, and Janet Stephens.

Jackie was an Eagle Scout and served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952. He attended Abilene Christian College. Jackie was a minister of the Church of Christ from 1958 to 2005. He served various congregations in San Antonio, Kamay, Tomball, El Campo, Grangerland and Houston. Over a 20 year period, he worked in the construction field as a Superintendant as well as serving as Minister to the Church. Jackie was active in the community and served on the Imperial Valley Board. He was a good man who is loved and will be missed by many.

Visitation is at Addison Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29th from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM at Addison Funeral Home. The graveside will follow on Thursday, July 1st at 12:30PM at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, TX 77038.
