My earliest memory of Clydene was when I was about 8 years old. She was in a beauty contest in Galveston. She was riding in a convertible. I was so proud of my cousin. Naturally, she was the most beautiful young woman in the contest. As we grew older, I realized that not only was she beautiful outside, she was beautiful inside. A couple of years ago, "Dene" and Orbey opened their home to me and Mom for a big garage sale. Dene made friends with every customer who walked up on their driveway. I know that famous laugh and smile just made their day. I will always cherish my memories of Dene. I love her and miss her.

Dene, you were such a wonderful person who was generous and
had a big heart. I am going to miss you and my dad coming over for family bbq's and crawfish parties..you two were such
fun to be around. Thank you so much for making my dad so happy, I haven't seen him that happy since he had met you. I
will definately miss your cooking and your laugh. You have
wonderful daughters and I am glad I got to know them. I know
you will be watching over them and their children. Miss and
love you. Michelle Edge Guillen |

Momma,
I think the best tribute to you is that I am such a strong woman -- like you. I learned alot of good things from you and I use those attributes every day. Sometimes, when I hear or say things, I can hear your voice. Momma, please know that I will try & do all I can for Donna & Joy and their babies, Sydney & Ethan ( and their future babies). I am a good grandma like you & hope their babies will have funny stories of me like my kids do about you. I will try & help them remember you & know that you wish you could be here for them. Also, I really want you to know that I am so happy that you had Orbey for the last 9 years because I know he made you happy & you deserved happiness. One more thing: Kevin loved you so much & has stories about you that crack me up (remember the thumb?). He tried to get me to tell that one at your service, but it wasn't going to happen. I love you Momma, always have & always will.

| I did not have the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Edge personally, but we share two very special blessings, her beautiful and kind daughter Joy, and our granddaughter, Sydney Rose Mahon. Since Joy joined my family, I have come to know what a loving and close family she comes from. I have also gotten to know two of Joy's sisters, Michele and Donna, and they are both strong and amazing women, just like Joy. I couldn't ask for a better role model for my granddaughter than Joy Chafin. Mrs. Edge must have been so proud of the family that she raised. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Mr. Orbey Edge and all of Joy's family during this very difficult time. May Mrs. Clydene Edge rest in peace forever with our Lord knowing that she left a strong and loving family to carry on her legacy. Sincerely, Cherie, Katherine and Timothy Ross, Ocala, FL, family of Ryan Mahon |

| Not sure Where to begin. Donna and I have been friends since kindergarten. Dene was a WONDERFUL person. I thought of her as a second mom and have so many fond memories. She kept notes and cards that I wrote to her when we were in Elementary school. Donna mentioned they found a mothers day card I wrote to her and she kept it all of these years. She was so beautiful and had such a great personality. She will be truly missed by everyone. I wish the family all the best, please know you are in my prayers as I know this is a difficult time. Heaven gained another wonderful Angel. |

I remember your mom as Mrs. Chafin. The memory that stands out most is when it was her turn to carpool in Kindergarten. She drove a station wagon that had the cleanest windows, so clean it looked like there was no glass but the wind did not touch my hair. I remember reaching to touch the glass and got scared because I left a fingerprint on the glass.
Your mom lived her life as she saw fit to live it. God allowed time for you all to say goodbye, that is such a gift. To her circle of friends and family, may you all find peace within and celebrate her life. |
